inewa | Member of Elevion completes energy efficiency project for Federal Mogul

The integrated intervention included the renovation of the roof (17.500 m³) and the installation of a photovoltaic system with peak power of 999 kW. A trigeneration plant consisting of a 1.013 kW electric and 969 kW thermal cogeneration module combined with an absorption refrigeration unit with cooling capacity of 600 kW were also added.

The intervention allows for on-site power generation and greater overall efficiency, being able to meet electrical, thermal and refrigeration needs simultaneously and avoiding the emission of more than 1.300 tons of CO2 per year. That will improve air quality in the beautiful hilltop town of Mondovì, where the factory is located, and the whole Province of Cuneo.

The project was funded directly by inewa under an EPC contract. Therefore, the stream of income from the energy and related cost saving repays the costs of the project, including the costs of the initial investment. Inewa also carries on operation and maintenance over time with a 10-year service contract.
